Vehicle and Boat Title Notarization in Clearwater
Selling a car to an out-of-state buyer, registering a boat, or transferring a mobile home often means a form that must be notarized. Iris meets buyers and sellers where it's convenient in Clearwater and handles it in one stop. Call 678-614-4636.
Hablamos español. Monday to Saturday, 8 to 6.

When title paperwork needs a notary
- Out-of-state buyers or sellers whose state requires a notarized title or bill of sale
- Affidavits requested by a county tax collector or motor vehicle office
- Lien releases and powers of attorney from lenders or dealers
- Boat and trailer paperwork for sales across state lines
- Mobile home transfers in parks and communities
Florida's own title transfers generally don't require notarization. Many out-of-state forms do. If you're unsure, send Iris a photo of the form before booking.
A typical example
An illustrative example, not a client testimonial. A Clearwater seller has a buyer from out of state for his boat, and the buyer's state requires a notarized bill of sale.
Iris meets both parties at the marina parking lot on a Saturday morning, checks both IDs, watches them sign the bill of sale and the buyer's state form, and completes the notarial certificates. The buyer drives home with paperwork his state will accept.
Meeting buyers and sellers
Vehicle sales often happen on a tight schedule. Iris can meet both parties at the seller's home, a parking lot near the Pinellas County tax collector, or a marina. Each signer needs their own photo ID and must sign in front of her. Visit our notary public in Clearwater page for other documents.
What to have ready
- The title or form, completed except for signatures
- Photo ID for every person signing
- Any instructions from the other state, lender or dealer
- VIN or hull number written down, in case the form asks for it
How it works
- Call 678-614-4636. Tell Iris what the document is, how many people are signing, where they are and whether witnesses are needed. She quotes the total.
- Iris arrives at the home, office, hospital room or care community at the agreed time with her seal and journal.
- She checks each signer's ID, confirms they understand and are signing willingly, watches them sign, and completes the notarial certificate.

Questions people ask before they call
Does a Florida title need to be notarized?
Usually not. Florida titles are signed by the seller and buyer and taken to the tax collector. Out-of-state forms are a different story.
Can you notarize if the other party isn't present?
Iris notarizes only the signatures of people who appear in front of her. Each party can be notarized separately, at different times, if the form allows it.
How much is it?
$10 per notarial act under Florida law, plus a travel fee: [travel area and any travel fee].
Can you check if my form is filled out right?
Iris can confirm the notarial section is complete, but she can't give legal advice about the transaction. Contact the agency that issued the form with questions.
Do you go to marinas?
Yes, anywhere in her Clearwater service area with a safe place to sign.
