Individual Tax Returns in Clearwater, Prepared at Your Home
You want your return done right and your refund as soon as possible, without losing a Saturday to a tax office. Iris prepares individual returns at your kitchen table in Clearwater and e-files them before she leaves. Call 678-614-4636 to book a time.
Hablamos español. Monday to Saturday, 8 to 6.

What Iris checks on every individual return
- Filing status. Single, married filing jointly, married filing separately or head of household. The right choice can change your tax by hundreds of dollars.
- Dependents and family credits. The Child Tax Credit, the credit for other dependents, and the child and dependent care credit for daycare and after-school programs.
- Earned Income Tax Credit. One of the largest credits for working families. Paid preparers must complete IRS due-diligence questions for it, and Iris does, so your refund holds up if the IRS asks.
- Standard deduction or itemizing. Mortgage interest, property taxes, charitable gifts and large medical bills only help if together they beat the standard deduction. Iris runs both.
- Newer deductions. Federal deductions for qualified tips, qualified overtime pay and an added deduction for taxpayers 65 and older apply starting with 2025 returns, each with income limits. Iris checks whether they apply to you.
- Education. The American Opportunity and Lifetime Learning credits for college costs, including St. Petersburg College and USF courses.
- Health coverage. If you bought insurance through the Marketplace, Form 1095-A reconciles your premium credit. Missing it can delay your refund.
A typical example
An illustrative example, not a client testimonial. A Clearwater couple with two kids and one W-2 each books a Saturday morning. Iris arrives at 9, reviews last year's return, and notices the daycare costs they paid for their youngest never made it onto last year's return. She prepares this year's return with the child and dependent care credit and the Child Tax Credit, then shows them that last year can be amended to claim the missed credit too. By 10:30 the return is e-filed, they have a copy, and a second appointment is set to amend the prior year.

A good fit for
Individual returns are Iris's most common appointment. They suit W-2 households, retirees with Social Security, pensions or IRA withdrawals, students and new graduates, and families who receive the Earned Income Tax Credit. If you also drive for a delivery app, sell on a marketplace or rent out a room, Iris handles that income on the same visit. See self-employed and 1099 returns if that side income is your main work.
How the appointment works
- Call 678-614-4636 and tell Iris what kind of return you have. She'll tell you what to gather and quote the price.
- Iris comes to your home or business, reviews your documents with you and asks about anything that changed this year.
- She prepares the return, walks you through the result, and e-files after you approve and sign. You keep a copy.
What it costs
Simple individual returns start at [starting price]. Added schedules, such as itemized deductions or a small side business, add to the price, and Iris tells you the total before she begins. No surprise fees at the end.
Why Clearwater clients choose a mobile tax professional
- No waiting room. Iris comes to your home or business at the time you choose, Monday to Saturday from 8 to 6.
- One person, start to finish. The same woman-owned business answers the phone, prepares the work and handles follow-up questions.
- Explained in your language. Every result is explained in plain English or Spanish, so you know exactly what you signed.
- A price before work begins. You hear the cost up front, with no surprise fees at the end.
- Your documents stay with you. Iris scans what she needs at your table, works on an encrypted laptop and hands your originals back before she leaves.

Questions people ask before they call
How fast will I get my refund?
The IRS says most e-filed returns with direct deposit are refunded within 21 days. Returns claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit are held by law until mid-February before refunds are released.
Do I need to bring my Social Security cards?
Bring the card or another document showing the correct number for everyone on the return. A wrong number or name mismatch is one of the most common reasons refunds get delayed.
My spouse and I file jointly. Do we both need to be there?
It helps, but it isn't required. Your spouse can join by phone for the review and sign electronically.
Can you prepare my teenager's return too?
Yes. Students with summer or part-time jobs often get all their withholding back. Iris can prepare their return at the same visit.
I receive Social Security. Is it taxable?
It depends on your total income. Up to 85 percent of benefits can be taxable at higher incomes, and none at lower incomes. Iris calculates it from your SSA-1099.
Do I need a Florida return?
No. Florida has no personal income tax. You may need another state's return if you moved here or worked in another state during the year.
